On Thursday, January 24th we celebrated our supporters during our 1st Donor Appreciation Cocktail Reception at Primi Italian Steakhouse in West Islip. The event was lighthearted, informative and FUN!
Beacon House CEO & President Frank Amalfitano welcomed guests and thanked them for their continued support. He announced that 2019 marks United Veterans Beacon House’s 25th year of service providing housing and supportive services to more than 23,000 veterans since its inception.
Among the more than 50 people in attendance was Mr. Edward Blaskey, EVP of Long Island at Sterling National Bank. Mr. Blaskey spoke passionately about his dedication to our mission and the role the bank will serve as a Community Partner and major donor. He urged our guests to accept his challenge to stay engaged and continue to support our mission.
Alphonso Richardson, Navy Veteran and former Beacon House client closed out our opening program by sharing his personal journey from homelessness to independence and the role Beacon House has played in his life. Alphonso received an energizing round of applause when he announced he will graduate with his Masters this coming May.
It was a great night, our guests mingled and networked while enjoying delicious food courtesy of Frank Bono, owner of Primi.
