In a heartwarming display of community support, United Veterans Beacon House proudly participated in the Suffolk County Veterans Stand Down on August 29th. The event provided a platform for UVBH to extend its mission of helping veterans in need, while also highlighting the power of collaboration
through their outreach partner, National Grid.
Amidst the backdrop of camaraderie and shared purpose, United Veterans Beacon House, thanks to the generosity of National Grid, made a significant impact by distributing essential items to veterans. Among these provisions were $25 food gift cards, offering immediate relief to veterans facing challenges. The distribution of travel first aid kits further underscored UVBH’s commitment to addressing veterans’; needs holistically.
The heart of the event lay in the connections forged. United Veterans Beacon House had the privilege of engaging with 200 veterans, providing a listening ear. These interactions created a space for veterans to connect with their community and find the support they deserve.
The organization’s presence at the event exemplified its commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of veterans. By addressing immediate needs and fostering connections, UVBH showed that even small acts of kindness can lead to meaningful change.
One of the event’s highlights was the active involvement of UVBH’s outreach community partner, National Grid. Their presence demonstrated the power of collaboration between non-profit organizations and businesses in creating positive change.
It is always a good day when you can be part of the solution.
